Job Search

Q:
How do I change my search criteria?
A:
Click on the 'Exit' link from the upper right corner of the job list page to close the window and return to the job search page to refine your search or to begin a new search.

Q:
Why did my search results return nothing?
A:
Based on your selections there are currently no open jobs. Click on the 'Exit' link to close the window and return to the job search page to refine your search criteria.

Q:
What locations are included in the job search?
A:
The country, region/state/province, and county/city listings contain only locations where Citi currently does business and/or has an office location, where jobs may be available via the job search. As Citi expands into new locations and as we add new countries to our job search, we will continue to update the listing.

Q:
What does job language mean and how is it used in the job search?
A:
Jobs are only posted in languages required for the job. Not all jobs will be posted in all available languages. For example, if you search for jobs in Mexico, you will have the option to search for jobs posted in Spanish or in English. There may be some jobs that are posted in Spanish only while there may be other jobs that are posted in both Spanish and English.

Q:
How do I find more information about the Citi businesses?
A:
The Citi organization is composed of four major business units and the Corporate Center, each of which is composed of subunits. You can visit www.citigroup.net for information about Citi businesses.

Q:
What is a job function?
A:
A job function is a category that generally describes the activities and responsibilities of the job. Thirty job functions are shared across all businesses at Citi. See the Our Job Functions menu option for a detailed list and descriptions.

Q:
How can I use the keyword search to return the best results?
A:
To obtain the best job search results, enter a single keyword for your search. If you enter multiple keywords, only those positions that exactly match all keywords will be returned.
Applying for a job

Q:
How do I apply for a job using this site?
A:
You can apply for jobs from work or from home. From work: log into the Employee Portal ( employeeportal.citigroup.net ) and click on the Career Mobility at Citi link from the menu on the left. From home: http://careermobility.citigroup.com Use the Job Search function to display a list of jobs based on the criteria you select. If you find a job for which you meet at least the minimum requirements and that you would like to apply for, click on the "Apply Online" button from the job description page. If you have already created a profile, you can use your previous information. You will be given the opportunity to make updates to your profile. If you haven't created a profile, you will be asked to begin the profile building and application process.

Q:
Why do I get errors when trying to apply for jobs?
A:
Internal search is for regular employees of Citi. If you are a contract or temporary employee, you may search, view, and apply for Citi job opportunities via our external job board at http://careers.citigroup.com.

Q:
How do I know if I have successfully applied for a job?
A:
Once you reach the "Thank you for applying" screen, you've successfully applied for the selected job. If you apply for a job without completing the profile steps to reach the "thank you" screen, your application cannot be considered.

Q:
I did not receive a confirmation of my application. Why?
A:
Your information is sent directly to the business that posted the job, and there are two reasons why you may not have received a confirmation of your application: 1. The business to which you have applied does not acknowledge receipt of applications.
2. Only one acknowledgement is sent for each position for which you have applied. If you applied for the same job a second time and then updated your application, you will not receive a second acknowledgement.

Q:
How will I know if my job application is being considered?
A:
If your qualifications and skills match the job requirements and description, you will be contacted.

Q:
Where in the recruitment system can I find contact information for the HR department of a business?
A:
The recruitment system does not provide this information to candidates.

Q:
What do I need to consider if applying to a job in another country?
A:
In addition to meeting the requirements for a job posting, you also must meet all pre-requisite eligibility including being authorized to work in that country.

Employee Referrals (United States Employee Referral Process Document)
